Chisme's journey began when she was abandoned at a local shelter as a tiny, vulnerable pup, just a few weeks old, after suffering a severe injury—a ruptured ulcer on her eye that left it three times its normal size. When our rescue was contacted to take her in, we couldn't say no to this brave little fighter.At only 1 pound upon arrival, Chisme was too small for anesthesia to remove her injured eye. Fortunately, under the care of her veterinarian, her eye began to heal and eventually shrunk to an atrophied state. While she may have lost vision in that eye, Chisme is not in any pain and no longer requires further medical intervention.Despite her challenging start, Chisme is a bundle of joy packed into a petite frame, weighing around 5 pounds. She's bursting with personality—playful, spunky, and overflowing with curiosity. Chisme adores interacting with other dogs and delights in exploring her surroundings.Chisme is looking for a special home where her owner either works from home or is not away for long hours. At her young age, she craves attention, love, and consistent training to help her blossom into a well-adjusted adult dog.
